I'll be honest, I have no idea if I even remember how to post anything. It's been so long in between postings that I don't think people even call them 'blogs' anymore, I think they've morphed into online 'journals'.
Do I even remember how to upload a photo?
Ah, like falling off a log. But more fun.
We've all gotten really good in the last three or so years at the micro-blog, the instagram moment, the quick Facebook summary. It can be a little superficial though, very one sided, and ultimately for me pretty unsatisfactory. The thing is, blogging used to be one of my favourite things to do. Of all. A nice combination of creative writing and journalling the busiest days, I loved the discipline of it, the scope, the conversations, the record. And I miss it.
Although I've been using the Inner Pickle recipe index as my personal online recipe source for years.
So much has happened.
There's so much to tell you.
Shall we make a pot of tea?
And do you think I've filed even ONE photo in the last three years? Not a one. My filing sucks. It's amazing we manage to run a small business at all, with the state of my filing.

We've been doing some planning for the future here, some decisions about the next few years, and when we thought about what the farm looks like in five years from now, all I can think of is that I'll have one kid in her last year of primary school, one in his last year of high school, and one in year ten. Holy gazooly. It's hard to be in the moment when the moments zip by in such a furious rush.
I'm sure it's the same for you.
Well, it's Wednesday. And the reason I'm sitting here at all is because I thought I might make a slice. I have half an hour, the prep for this weekend's workshop is underway, Adam is at the Farmer's Market for the afternoon, I've done a morning of admin and we'll need afternoon tea. All those slices of Wednesdays, sitting in the recipe index here, looking edible. I thought I might quickly put together a passionfruit slice - I spied a tin of condensed milk in the pantry and there's passionfruit on the vine outside. Shall we?

So nice to see you back! I made your Lazy Lady slice just last weekend! So good!

Hello stranger! As you can see, Jools and I are still hanging around the place. I'm on a slice blitz at the mo. I've got the last few bits of a cherry slice (cherries from a jar) in the fridge right now.
How lovely to have you back. I hope you hang around and tell us what's been happening. xx

Well, hello Fiona. I smiled a very big smile when your post popped right to the top of my blog list. These many years later I'm still blogging to, though more haphazardly than before I began teaching. Yep, it's still blogging, although YouTube seems to be becoming a big thing. Imagine that!
It is so very nice to hear even a little tidbit from your corner of the world...and on a Wednesday. With a slice. Well, I have my cup of tea right here, so all's good with the world again.
If you were inclined I would LOVE to hear what you and your precious ones have been up to.

A huge hello! You were always top on my reading and I loved watching you and your family growing! I blogged steadily for 3 years and then my Momma got sick with Alzheimer's and finally died and I just didn't have the heart to write anymore.
Like You I have used my blog www.overatjulies.com as a file for my favorite recipes. When I go back and read my posts, I can see I had a real flare for writing and enjoyed the creativity of it all so much. At present, we have moved from our place in the country with citrus and fruit orchard, and are now living in Texas in a tiny house dreaming of a very costly piece of acreage in the country nearby with woods, and meadows, and a huge pond!
Please continue blogging when you can, I so enjoy hearing how you are doing!
Love, Julie

Lovely to see you again we were just talking this morning about how we loved the "fiasco farming"

I can't believe the coincidence of this post as only this morning I was wondering if you still posted on inner pickle. I just so happened to be reading your post on Grandma's sponge as I have it saved to my phone. Well, now I know the answer to my wondering and great to see a gorgeous slice at the ready for afternoon tea. X

Hello Fiona
By sheer fluke, I discovered that you were back to blogging today and it has truly made my day. I look forward to reading about whatever comes next. On random days when I feel a bit flat, I read something from your blog and you have no idea how it gives me a much needed lift. After reading you new post today, I went back and read your list of favourite posts ... what a delight! Please keep your casual, yet beautifully written, heart felt, true stories coming. When we feel all in-a-pickle, we all need Inner Pickle! It's like chicken soup for the soul. I just love your work!!! And your Visitor Biscuits and your (Estelle's Mum's) custard.
Cheers Niki ;)

You popped up in my email today! Will look forward to following you again. Once in awhile you are in my feed on Facebook, and I enjoy seeing what's happening "down under" on your farm. You are an inspiration. ~Elaine in Kentucky, USA

So wonderful to see you back blogging. I always enjoyed your writing, whether you were making me laugh or cry. So I'm looking forward to the update.
One day I'd love to attend one of your workshops - if only I could work it in to a trip down your way.
