{this moment}: A Friday tradition with Soulemama. Grab one moment from this week (if you're not too busy being in the moment!) One that you just want to hang onto and not forget.
And if you're a blogger playing along, please leave your link!
I'm going to disobey the rules just this once and add some words to this picture.
This, above, is the baby who started physiotherapy before he was one because he wasn't moving. This is the toddler who we had to strap into calf-high splints to get him up and walking at two years old. This is the boy who, after years of physio and occupational therapy, we're still told will tire quickly, need supplements, disengage, and need help.
Righto, then. Tell him at five he needs pure maths to be an astronaut and watch him inhaling numbers. Send him to school and watch him connecting and befriending. Drop the supplements and watch his health thrive. Turn off the TV, send him outside and watch him run.
I'm grateful for all the help we've had, but sometimes I think: all by himself, this kid is going to grow wings and fly.
long live king henry-dude!!!

Sniff, sniff... Such a proud Mummy of such an awesome boy. So wish we lived closer and could see your kids grow, develop and change. Wish you could hang out wih mine too and they could have some ace cousin relationships. James and Henry would, I am certain, be great friends (J wants to be a scientist!), and Tilly, Edward and William would get into all sorts of unmentionable mischief! Wanting so much to see you all at the moment xxx

Glad I found you. We were once told our little girl might never walk. After years of PT, OT, etc, I'm chasing after her.

What a lovely moment. Kids are incredible! No one needs to teach them to lust for life, we just need to learn to get out of their way when they are doing it!

This is a simply radiant picture -- made even more special by the words you include (sometimes the stories of our moments deserve a bit more explaining...so I appreciate that you did!) I did as well by including more pics on a post immediately prior to my moment! :)

Weird thing this blog world - we read snippets of stories from lives and slowly things come into focus. I've had a keen radar for mentions of this spunky son of yours as the same diagnosis has been bandied around for my daughter. For her, it keeps getting mentioned and then dismissed - and sometimes I think I should demand a test and be done with it. And then other times I just think- hell, she's just who she is and she's doin it all her own way and I just wanna be done with all the medical crap and let her get on with it. Of course I'm gonna keep doing all the OT and physio and speechy stuff - but, you know, I know exactly how you feel - just give em the space for there unique wingspan!
