So another spectacularly successful day all round.
At the doctors this morning for a check up, honestly something SO FUN to do with a 2 and a 4 year old, right? And somehow, in the waiting room, Henry manages to stab himself in the eye with my Blockbuster Video card. Major incident. Great dramatics, unable to open eye for 20 minutes. But after waiting 45 mins to see the doctor he'd recovered sufficiently to not require the emergency surgery he'd demanded. So all good. We stumbled home, incident-free.
And then the lovely PC fixit man arrived to tell me my laptop was a total dead duck, unable to be revived etc. The fact Adam was able to get it turned on and backed up last night does, in hindsight, seem miraculous and I'm extremely grateful.
So we're photo-free, sorry, till next Wednesday at this stage, when lovely PC fixit man will come back and transform this prehistoric Mac into something a little more workable. Hopefully.
Also, next week's project is: How many days can you last just eating up your pantry? (With a bit of fresh stuff thrown in.) I don't know about you but I always seem to have quite a lot of food in my cupboards. I'm going to experiment next week by finding three things to do with tinned chick peas, dried lentils and pasta. Sounds appetizing? Wait and see what we can do with that 2kg rice we got in case there was a swine flu outbreak!
Please bear with me while my technical debacle is solved.
And one more sunshiney thought:
Tell me what it is you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Hey Fiona, Funny you should mention the pantry. Last night I discovered we had four packets of water crackers! Four! So in the case of an outbreak, we will be right for apertifs!

There's a heap of websites that give you ideas of what you can do with your random ingredients that you find in the back of the pantry etc : try "supercook" and you just type in what you've got to work with and it gives you the recipe.
